NEWS

What's New?

  • The website is undergoing an overhaul, so the way that things are done on the site may change.

  • The Summerside Chess Club (held at the library) is going to be running all summer. We may take a week or so off in July... but that is yet to be decided. The Chess Table has always remained open and in service all summer... so nothing will change

The Chess Table

Library Chess Club

The Chess Table used to be located in the main section of the Summerside Farmer's Market. It used to have a full-size vendor's table, as well.

Then I moved to Africa  for a decade (refer to The Chess Man to learn more), and everything was different, when I came back.

The Chess Table is open to anyone and                                                everyone who                                                     wants to sit down,                                             and have a game                                               of chess. Anyone                                               and everyone are

also free to fold origami.

However...

Per week (per market-morning), The Chess

Table is used primarily by children.

KIDS ARE FREE TO

STAY AT THE CHESS

TABLE FOR AS

LONG AS THEY

LIKE... even if what they're doing has nothing to do with chess or origami.

The Chess Table exists to provide a safe-space for children at the market. Before I went to Africa, we had a separate play-room for children. When I came back,                                             though, it was now                                             used for storage.

Due to the fact                                                  that kids can stay    at the table for as long as they like, anyone is welcome to come & play, but I limit how long other adults can stay at the table.
